Damage in the form of scratches can occur, particularly if used in an outdoor environment. Letter tiles, being collated across dirty surfaces for example or grit and dirt collecting in between the tiles may scar the letter. Light scratching however, which will naturally occur will have no visible impact on your message whatsoever!

For the more heavier scratches, a simple recovery procedure can be actioned, by using a black, spirit based marker pen on the print side of the tile. Generally speaking, the print surface is the side of the tile facing you, when placed right- reading on a surface. For ‘clear’ letters that are symmetrical, hold the letter up and run your figures across it to establish the ink side. The ink side has a thin shiny line all around the edge of the letter. Only the printed side of the replaceable letter tile will attract the scratching to the letter tile.

Our experience, however tells us that this is not a common requirement and heavy scratching is rare! If you have a tile that needs replacing due to damage beyond repair, we offer a tile replacement service.
