Cookie Dough Pop Up Shop Chooses Changeable Menu Board

changeable retro US sign using plastic letters and channels so you can alter or chnage the message in the letter boardWe were delighted that one of London’s newest fast food providers picked a changeable sign to display their mouth watering menu of culinary delights. However it’s not burgers, fancy coffees or South American wraps, but Cookie Dough! Welcome to Naked Dough who have opened their first pop in London’s Old Street Area.

On the menu you going to find things like Unicorn Food (cookie dough with marshmallows and sprinkles), Poo Emojis (dough with chocolate chips) or Ed Sheeran (dough with salted caramel and honeycomb), among other bits and bobs. And the great news everything in the pop up comes in under £4, whether in a cone, tub or in a milk shake.

So the question was for the founders of the concept how best to display the menu in an exciting, modern and fresh way. Off course a chalkboard would work, so too would a retro peg board, but all these lacked presence and originality.

Inspired from the US 1950’s Milk bars Jen and Hannah fell in love with our retro boards using plastic sliding letters into channels. A colour scheme was agreed upon and we set to work developing sympathetic graphics that would have been used extensively across the US : simple blocks of geometric shapes with hard diagonal edges. (There was nothing smooth in the 1950’s apart from the hair and cars!!!)

Finally a board size was agreed upon with LPm 33 sliding plastic letters, allowing customers to be able to look in and clearly see the menu from outside – a distance of around 10 metres. Each letter track was 1 metre long and the board can hold up to 10 lines of changeable letters.

Assembled by the customer on site, the board, plastic letters and tracks are delivered in kit form. The tracks are self adhesive and stick to most surfaces if using the letter board indoors. To assist with the simple construction a cardboard template is supplied to ensure the tracks are parallel and correct distance apart, as well as faint printed lines on the board so the consumer knows where to start applying the letter tracks. All up and running in no time!

The readerboard has been great, thank you so much. Looks great in the shop.  Jen and Hannah
